Basics: I'm a writer and musician. I've been writing and recording music since my junior year of high school. For several years, I had a band called Daisy Glaze in Bloomington, Indiana; we got some press in magazines like High Times and Flipside and The Big Takeover. (You can hear some Daisy Glaze recordings on the music page of this site. Since then I've primarily recorded under my own name, and several of these recordings are available on the music page as well.

Just as long as I've been doing music I've also been writing, for years in the field of music journalism but also including fiction, nonfiction, and various other bits here and there. The writing page of this site can fill you in on that side of things.

I also have over ten years of experience as a freelance copywriter and technical writer, during which time I have done work for organizations including Hewlett-Packard (HP), the US Air Force and Navy, Einstein Industries, Pulse-LINK, Lionbride, CH2M Hill Engineering and others. Currently I live in San Diego, California. And no, I'm not related to Amy Poehler of SNL/UCB as far as I know, though it is a pretty rare name so it's possible, distantly. In any case, it wouldn't be through blood.
