Basics: I'm a writer and musician. I've been writing and recording music since my junior year of high school. For several years, I had a band called Daisy Glaze in Bloomington, Indiana; we got some press in magazines like High Times and Flipside and The Big Takeover. Daisy Glaze recordings are available for free download on the music page of this site. Since then I've primarily recorded under my own name, and several of these recordings are available on the music page as well.

As long as I've been doing music I've been writing as well, for years in the field of music journalism but also including fiction, nonfiction, and various other bits here and there. The writing page of this site can fill you in on that side of things.

Currently I live in San Diego, California.

And no, I'm not related to Amy Poehler of SNL/UCB as far as I know, but it is a pretty rare name so it's possible, distantly. In any case, it wouldn't be through blood.
